Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge podcast fan. Whether it’s keeping me distracted from the pain of running, helping me relax into sleep when my mind is anxious or doing a bit of research for whatever it is I’m writing; I find a good podcast invaluable. And I still can’t believe they’re free!

If the fact that 2021 feels remarkably like 2020; here are my top tips for podcasts which might just help you turn that frown upside down.

  • Relatively by Pocket Productions is a heartwarming new release all about relationships between siblings. Brothers and sisters are often the longest relationships of our lives and it’s fascinating to hear them interviewed here about how their experiences growing up have impacted their adult connections with each other. Expect lots of teasing and name-calling… it seems some things never change!
  • Feel Better, Live More with Dr Rangan Chattergee first came to my attention when I was gifted his fantastic book. The podcast aims to inspire, empower and transform the way we feel, by offering us life-hacks and tools to help improve the way we eat, sleep, move and relax. Invaluable in these stressful times.
  • My introduction to podcasts many years ago was through the hilarious My Dad Wrote a Porno, and it is still one of the funniest things I’ve ever come across. If you don’t want to walk down the road laughing out loud to yourself like you’ve lost the plot; do not download this series.
  • At a time when we’re all having to stay at home more than we’d ever want to, The Great Indoors is a celebration of all things Interiors and aims to help us truly make our house a home. If you’re looking for inspiration or fancy a new year revamp of your space, this podcast has a wealth of tips for you.
  • For all my fellow softies, have a listen to This Is Love. Each episode presents a different true love story, sometimes they’re about famous people, but more often they’re the tales of ordinary people who have had to go to extraordinary lengths to be together. Don’t expect all hearts and flowers, some of these stories are painful and sad… but they all prove that the real thing is out there; if you’re prepared to fight hard enough for it.
